Nailed It

It always feels good to be recognized for a job well done. At Hyphn, there are a couple of ways that we accomplish this. The first is through our peer recognition program, "Nailed it!". When you help your coworkers, they can recognize you for your hard work and have your name entered into a weekly raffle.

Bring the Fun (Bucket) to Work

Work shouldn’t be a drag, life is too short. It’s one of our greatest points of pride that we can bring our whole selves to work, our curiosity, belly laughs, goofy energy, and a sprinkle of self-deprecation (all in good fun of course). Work can be hard, deadlines can be stressful, patience can run short, but don’t worry we can count on each other to keep perspective and bring the fun (bucket) to work.

 
 
 

Fun Committee

Want to have a say in the internal events that we do at Hyphn? Join the Fun Committee and help plan all of our "We Love to Laugh" events. The committee meets once a month to develop and execute events for the whole company to enjoy.

Team Happy Hours

Everyone enjoys being able to let off steam. At Hyphn, we believe that it's always better to do so with friends. Happy Hours at Hyphn happen frequently and range from small get-togethers with your department to drinks around the Hyphn bar on Fridays or even whole company get-togethers.

Family Photos

Family is obviously one of the most essential things for all of us. Holiday photos are something that we all do every year! At Hyphn, we provide these to all interested employees!

 

Internal Events

We treat our clients and influencers to some of the most creative and exciting experiences Portland offers. We also believe that our employees deserve the same. So, regularly, Hyphn employees are treated to an above and beyond experience. These range from whole company bowling days to sporting events and picnics!

Wellness Program

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility

At Hyphn, we have put wheels in motion to self-assess, learn, and create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. In partnering with organizations that can support us, we have found tangible ways to improve both short- and long-term.

Tia Coachman, Founder at Affirma Consultancy, said that where there is inconsistency, there is inequality. This year, we have started our journey in IDEA by focusing internally on talent acquisition, talent management, onboarding, and culture. We have begun to reevaluate the current tools, resources, and processes that support our employees to ensure that they work effectively for everyone. Our goal is for employees across the organization to have a consistent onboarding experience. Once a team member is aware of and has access to resources to engage, grow, learn, and develop in their career and with Hyphn, their educational journey of better understanding IDEA can begin.

Long-term, we intend to focus externally and engage more in our community to become a resource for others on IDEA. In addition, we want to reach out to underserved and underrepresented communities to develop talented individuals for a career in workplace services.

  • Review and improve regular cadence for a continuous manager to employee performance management throughout the year

  • Employee wide communication and education around the Performance Management Process

  • Review job description requirements and qualifications (especially for entry-level)

  • Update job descriptions and postings to include statements and commitments to IDEA

  • Prioritize areas of opportunity and develop a 2021 plan of action and communication strategy

  • Determine how best to approach IDEA training with the Operations team

  • Develop 2021 learning and workshop plan and execute

  • Include IDEA related training as part of performance management measures

  • Create onboarding plans that span the first 365 days of employment

  • Establish 30-60-90 day KPI's for new hires
